Has a Rexton gearbox problem ruined your driving pleasure? Don’t worry, it won’t last forever. From the moment the problem is identified, it will be easy to plan the necessary repairs.
The Rexton’s adventure began in 2002, under the Daewoo logo, before continuing its career at SsangYong from 2004. So don’t be surprised if there is sometimes confusion between brands depending on the site, magazine or other information medium you consult.
Back to the main topic, the first Rextons were delivered with two diesel and two gasoline units. The 2.3 150 hp, 2.7 XDi 165 hp and 2.9 XDi 120 hp models of this generation are equipped with an all-wheel drive system backed by a 5-speed manual. The 220 hp 3.2 V6 engine is paired with a Ssangyong Rexton 4-speed automatic gearbox.
The manufacturer has introduced improvements to its SUV for the new generation produced from 2006. The 156 hp 2.7 XDi block is delivered with a 5-speed automatic transmission or a manual transmission that also has 5 speeds. Meanwhile, the 155 hp RX200e-XDi engine offers a choice between a 5-speed automatic transmission and a 6-speed manual transmission.
What is cdi and what is it for?
The capacitor discharge ignition, also known as cdi, is nothing more than an electronic circuit that is responsible for giving the signal to the coil of an engine to induce a high-voltage spark in the spark plugs of the motorcycle. … In this way, the motorcycle is optimally maintained.
What is the CDI of the motorcycle?
The motorcycle CDI
Specifically, it is an electronic device whose function is to indicate to the engine coil when it is the ideal moment to induce a high-voltage spark in the spark plugs to initiate the combustion process and start the vehicle.
What is CDI Racing?
It is distinguished externally by its aluminum outer case, a metal that dissipates heat much better than the usual plastic case. … In terms of operation, this CDI advances the ignition at the highest engine revolutions, thus increasing performance at high revolutions.
How to repair motorcycle cdi
One of the most important parts inside our engine is the turbocharger, it is a part that is subjected to much effort working at more than 150,000 revolutions per minute and that usually goes beyond 900 degrees Celsius whose failures are quite expensive in case we do not respect the necessary times for it to warm up in a progressive rhythm at the same time that it cools down.
Little by little the engine of the car is consuming oil, that is why we check the dipstick from time to time and it is normal that each time it goes to less, up to here there is no problem. The problem comes when suddenly we observe an abnormal drop in the oil level and after replacing it again has a large loss a few days after making the change. This is probably due to the turbo bushings inside the turbo turbine shaft.
If these bushings have not had a good maintenance or by the use are having looseness is likely to begin to lose tightness so that the oil instead of just lubricate also will leak into the intake system. If this is what is happening to you, you may notice that the smoke from your exhaust will be white and have the typical frying smell.
Why does the motorcycle fail me in high speed?
One of the main reasons why your motorcycle may fail to accelerate is that there is too much fuel. This can be caused by leaving the starter (air lever) on, which causes the amount of fuel in the mixture to be higher than recommended.
What does the National Commission for the Development of Indigenous Peoples (CDI) do?
Its main objectives are to guide, coordinate, promote, support, encourage, follow up and evaluate programs, projects, strategies and public actions for the integral and sustainable development of Mexico’s indigenous peoples and communities.
What is CDI Nicaragua?
About CDI NICARAGUA
Corporación Distribuidora Internacional, commercially known as CDI SA, started operations as LD International de Nicaragua, but it was in 2005 that it changed its name to CDI S.A.
How to know if my motorcycle’s cdi is faulty
The regulator of a motorcycle is an electrical device that rectifies the electric current delivered by the alternator and, thus, allows all the electronic components of the vehicle to receive a safe power supply, free of “voltage peaks”.
This device consists of a housing, usually made of aluminum, inside which there is a printed circuit board. The outside of the housing includes a series of heat dissipating plates and the wiring is protected to withstand the adverse effects of possible external agents (humidity, dirt, extreme temperatures, etc.).
The regulator is usually located under the vehicle chassis, at the front of the engine, and another of its functions is to convert the voltage from AC (alternating current) to DC (direct current). If this function is not fulfilled, failures may occur in the regulator itself or in the rest of the related components.
As can be seen, the regulator is a fundamental component of the vehicle. This is because, as they require the proper electrical voltage, most of the motorcycle’s systems depend on their correct operation.
What is CDI in psychology?
The CDI is one of the most widely used self-applied scales to assess depressive symptomatology in children and adolescents. This scale was created from the Beck Depression Inventory (Beck, 1978) to be applicable to the school population. The CDI consists of 27 items.
How to test a magnet?
Touch one end of the probe to the engine block and the other to the metal clip inside the rubber housing that normally attaches to the spark plug. Readings are given in thousands of ohms, or “k” ohms. A good reading will range from 3k to 15k. A higher reading indicates a bad connection.
What happens if I put another CDI on my bike?
The second thing you should know is that when you change the cdi of your bike you will have to tune it up, adjust the valves and most likely you will have to disassemble the carburetor and lift the needle to give more fuel to it, you should also consider replacing the low fuel chicler since the racing cdi have a higher fuel consumption.
High cdi failure
Well, the bike does not start and we already know that the starter motor turns, gasoline arrives, has compression and other things seem to be fine, but from the spark plugs there is no spark. This is easy to check and almost everyone knows how: taking out the spark plug (one of them is ok, if your bike has more than one cylinder) and making sure that the metal part of the spark plug touches “mass” (the engine itself, for example), and connected to the pipe, we turn the engine and a spark should jump. If it is not thus, it will be necessary to verify several points.
In a motorcycle with battery, logically, if there is no load, the problem is clear. But sometimes, and it depends on the bike, you can have a problem of low charge: sometimes you have enough battery to turn on lights, turn the starter motor … but it runs out of “chicha” to feed the ignition circuit. Always check that you have a battery in good condition before proceeding. And this means above 12.5 V minimum at no load.
Checked that we have enough battery, we continue without spark. From here on there are two easy elements to check: the spark plug itself and the pipe. The best way is to replace the spark plug for another one and test it on a mass. If with another spark plug there is no spark either, remove the wire pipe (if it is not one of those that have the coil in the pipe itself) and check, keeping the tip of the wire at a distance of 5 or 10 mm from the engine if the spark jumps from here to the block. Be careful, it can give you a slight cramp. It does not hurt too much, it is not dangerous and it has an advantage: if you get “the snap”, you know that the cable has current. If it doesn’t, and there is no spark, you have to keep investigating.
