European Works Council
Council Directive 94/45/EC of 22 September 1994 on the establishment of a European Works Council or a procedure in Community-scale undertakings and Community-scale groups of undertakings for the purposes of informing and consulting employees sets out the procedure for the formation or establishment of a European Works Council.
Community-scale undertakings employing 1000 employees or more from member states, or 150 employees or more in at least two different member states; and having establishments in different member states of the EU and the other states party to the agreement on the European Economic Area may establish a European Works Council.
