Which countries have EU embassies?

What’s going on in AFGHANISTAN | The technology behind it

If you are not a citizen of the European Union or do not have your primary residence in Belgium, you can only travel to Belgium for essential reasons or for any reason if you have an approved vaccination certificate with full vaccination.

Since September 1, a vaccination certificate from a non-EU country, such as Mexico, is accepted when it contains at least the following information in Dutch, French, German or English :

Are you Belgian and have just moved to Mexico and want to register at the Embassy in Mexico? Are you traveling as a tourist in Mexico and lost your passport? Do you need to apply for a visa to travel to Belgium? Here, you will find it all.

How do embassies work?

The transformation of the Delegations of the European Commission into the current EU Delegations has been one of the changes of the Lisbon Treaty to give greater coherence to the external action of the EU.

Beyond the provisions of the Treaties, some delegations already host national embassies as well as non-resident diplomats, the embryo of the phenomenon known as the “European Embassy” is beginning to appear: EU Delegations in which most Member States co-locate their embassies, with the delegation being responsible for the management of the facilities and logistical aspects. This post-modern model of diplomacy implies a real coordination in foreign policy through synergies between workers, being the “European Embassies” a hybrid between the EU Delegations and the current national embassies.

In countries with a Foreign Security and Defense Policy mission, whether civilian or military, the delegations implement EU-led policies, including reports with high political and security content, key to consolidate the diplomatic role of the EU Delegations and thus the emergence of the “European Embassies”.
